Dave has been employed as the CEO of the British Model Flying Association for the last 13 years. He has also served as General Secretary of the Royal Aero Club of the United Kingdom for the last 7 years and as Europe Air Sports Technical Officer for Unmanned Aircraft for the past 2 years.
Dave has been at the forefront of negotiations with EASA on behalf of the European Model Flying community, attending meetings and submitting feedback to EASA on behalf of both Europe Air Sports and the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale. He also represents the interests of model flyers within the UK on a ‘cross government working group’.
At their inaugural meeting on the 28th October, the initial 11 nations within the newly formed European Model Flying Union also appointed Dave to provide representation on their behalf in dealings with EASA.
Dave has been flying model aircraft since 1982 and is married with two grown up children. He lives on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire.
