Séamus Kearns has been at the forefront of Search & Rescue for more than 10 years. He was the second person ever to be decorated with a Point of Light Award from the UK Prime Minister for his work during major flooding in February 2014. In 2008 he was the youngest ever Level 3 Search Dog handler in the UK and proceeded to become the youngest ever National K9 assessor. For the last two years Séamus has been working to bring UAVs into the world of UKSAR and now is Head of Operations at the UK's only Police-approved SAR Remotely Piloted Aerial System (SARRPAS) team.
Surrey Search & Rescue are using real-time HD footage to search for missing people in areas that may be too dangerous for SAR personnel and FLIR cameras to give them the edge when speed is of the essence.
